Landscape Construction RPL is how experienced landscapers turn real, on-the-job experience into a nationally recognised, Certificate III-level outcome — without sitting through training you've already mastered on-site.
If you've been reading and setting out site plans, building retaining walls, paving, brick or block structures, installing drainage and irrigation systems, or establishing plants and turf as part of landscape projects, much of what you already do lines up with the units assessed through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Instead of starting a course from scratch, RPL lets a partner Registered Training Organisation (RTO) assess your existing evidence against those units.
RPL Access Australia isn't an RTO. We help you check whether RPL in landscape construction fits your background, build a strong evidence portfolio, and liaise with a suitable RTO for formal assessment. Relevant overseas experience can also be considered as part of your evidence.

Evidence You May Need
RPL assessment is conducted by an RTO. The following types of evidence are commonly discussed during RPL support consultations.
Every RPL application runs on evidence, not classroom hours. For a Landscape Construction RPL application, you'll typically want to gather:
- Photo ID (for the RTO's 100-point identity check)
- An up-to-date resume or CV covering your relevant roles
- Position descriptions or duty statements confirming your landscaping and construction duties
- Employment contracts, payslips, or rosters confirming your role and timeframe
- Reference letters from employers, supervisors, or clients verifying the work you performed
- Photos or videos of completed landscape projects you worked on (with client details removed)
- Any relevant tickets or licences (e.g. White Card, chemical handling)
- Your Unique Student Identifier (USI), or the details to create one via the USI portal
