RPL for Cabinet Makers

If you've spent years building cabinets, fitting joinery, or working with timber in a workshop or on-site, you may already have the skills needed for a nationally recognised qualification. This RPL pathway is designed for experienced cabinet makers who have learned their trade through hands-on work rather than formal study.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows your existing skills, knowledge, and work history to be formally assessed against the requirements of a nationally recognised qualification, so you can avoid repeating training you don't need.

RPL Access Australia is an independent RPL consulting and student support service. We are not a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) — we help you prepare your evidence and connect you with a suitable RTO who will carry out the formal assessment and issue any qualification outcome.

How the RPL Process Works

1. Tell us about your experience — share your work history, roles, and the type of cabinet making work you've done.
2. Prepare your evidence — with our help, gather documents and examples that demonstrate your skills.
3. Connect with an RTO — we'll link you with a Registered Training Organisation who will formally assess your evidence.
4. Receive your outcome — the RTO will confirm which units you've met and outline any remaining gaps.
